CliniWorks Inc., developer of the AccelFind™ clinical evidence and research-acceleration software platform, announced that it received the prestigious Judge's Choice Award in Bio-IT World's 2011 Best Practices Award competition. The Award was received by CliniWorks founders Nitzan Sneh and Udi Meirav in front of a standing-room-only audience at the Boston World Trade Center on April 13, 2011.

“We are honored and delighted to receive this recognition from Bio-IT World”

"We extend our sincere congratulations to the winners of this year's Bio-IT World Best Practices Awards competition" said Kevin Davies, editor-in-chief of Bio-IT World, adding that winners "should be very proud that they have captured the imagination and respect of such a distinguished jury."

Established in 2003, Bio-IT World's Best Practices Awards program selects organizations for their outstanding innovations and excellence in the use of technologies, practices, and novel business strategies that will advance drug discovery, development, biomedical research, and clinical trials.

The judges recognized the groundbreaking AccelFind™ software platform which uses highly specialized natural-language algorithms and uniquely efficient data handling capabilities to enable hospitals to make valuable use of medical records for improving clinical research and healthcare quality. AccelFind™ analyzes essential information normally "locked" in the form of physician narratives and other free-text notes in medical records. No less importantly, it guarantees privacy of patient health information through multiple layers of failsafe protection and de-identification. This combination of capabilities makes for a breakthrough in the speed, efficiency and quality of clinical research, which is the bottleneck in bringing new and better drugs to market.

"We are honored and delighted to receive this recognition from Bio-IT World", said Nitzan Sneh, founder and CEO of CliniWorks. "And while we agree with the panel's assessment of the impact we can bring to clinical development, we believe the biggest winners are going to be hospitals and healthcare providers themselves, for whom AccelFind will bring a whole array of benefits and value."

AccelFind is the culmination of years of investment in natural language technology development and ontology-driven algorithms by CliniWorks and its affiliates. And while numerous groups have invested in natural language processing of clinical texts, AccelFind™ stands out as an exceptionally practical, easy-to-implement and easy-to-use solution than can be quickly and cheaply deployed in any hospital IT environment.

"The ability to offer hospitals a fast, painless and inexpensive tool is an essential distinguishing feature of AccelFind™ and perhaps the one we are most proud of", added Dr. Udi Meirav, co-founder and Chairman of CliniWorks. "It comes down to this: hospitals love AccelFind, and for that reason we anticipate that it will be rapidly embraced by a growing number of institutions and users."
