National Journal: Sebelius To Appear On 'The Daily Show'
Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius will be a guest of Comedy Central's The Daily Show with Jon Stewart Monday night, according to the show's web site. It will be Sebelius's second appearance on The Daily Show. During her first appearance, in 2009, she explained the Obama administration's plan to reform the health care system, and why reform was necessary. Her Monday night appearance will come days after she told health reform advocates that a more aggressive communications push was necessary in order to protect the health reform law this year (Quinton, 1/23).

The Hill: 'Daily Show' Host Presses Sebelius On States' Role In Health Care
Comedian Jon Stewart pressed Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius with detailed questions Monday about the implementation of health care reform. Stewart raised HHS' surprising decision to let the states define "essential" health benefits, asking why the states could be trusted with that task when many of them lack strong insurance regulations. "Why do we think they'll have the ability to regulate it enough to create reasonable plans for people?" Stewart asked (Baker, 1/23).
