Cadence Health, the health system created through the merger of Central DuPage Health and Delnor Community Health System, announced an expansion of its relationship with the Cleveland Clinic to include cardiology services. With this expansion, Cadence Health will offer the Cleveland Clinic Heart & Vascular Institute's full range of cardiac and vascular services, which has been rated #1 in heart care by US News & World Report for 17 consecutive years.

The expanded affiliation, which will be offered throughout the Cadence Health system, goes beyond heart surgery to encompass the entire spectrum of cardiology services including interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, cardiac imaging such as nuclear testing and echocardiography, other non-invasive testing, and the management of congestive heart failure. Multidisciplinary teams from Cadence Health and Cleveland Clinic will work together to create and implement cardiology best practices and standards of care.

"This cardiology affiliation is the natural evolution of our successful implementation of Cleveland Clinic's heart surgery program currently being offered at the Central DuPage Hospital campus and will enable Cadence Health to further leverage Cleveland Clinic's unparalleled expertise, resources and reputation in heart care," said Luke McGuinness, Chief Executive Officer, Cadence Health.  "The physicians on the medical staffs of Central DuPage Hospital and Delnor Hospital will have even greater access to advanced clinical services as well as the opportunity to collaborate with the top ranked cardiac program in the country."

The affiliation for cardiology services marks Cadence Health's second affiliation with Cleveland Clinic this year, and third affiliation in total. On February 13, Cadence Health launched its affiliation with Cleveland Clinic for adult medical oncology services, an opportunity to build an extensive offering of cancer services at its two hospitals.

"The expansion of our affiliation with Cadence Health ensures area patients have access to all of the medical and surgical cardiac expertise Cleveland Clinic is known for to treat their complex conditions," said Joseph Cacchione, M.D., Cardiologist and Chairman of Operations and Strategy at Cleveland Clinic's Heart & Vascular Institute. "We look forward to our expanded collaboration to bring world-class heart care to Cadence Health's service area."
