Samsung Electronics America, Inc., a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd, today announced the Samsung UGEO H60, the first ultrasound system integrating Samsung technology and design introduced to the U.S. medical imaging market. Combining Samsung's latest medical imaging technology and smart design, the Samsung UGEO H60 ensures superior imaging performance and a sleek design that provides users with a fast, accurate and intuitive ultrasound experience. The UGEO H60 is among a number of innovative medical imaging products Samsung will be showcasing at this week's American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine's (AIUM) Annual Convention at the New York Marriott Marquis Hotel, Booth #516.

“We are keen to demonstrate how the integration of Samsung technology into our lineup of medical ultrasound and imaging products can help enhance the quality of care and transform both the patient and provider experience.”

In addition, Samsung is also introducing FRV™ - Feto Realistic View, a new image rendering technology for the premium Accuvix A30 ultrasound system that gathers much more information from 3D/4D data than previous versions, enabling highly detailed images of the fetus. The FRV™ software update will be available to new and existing Accuvix A30 customers.

"The Samsung UGEO H60 and FRV™ are just the latest examples of our global commitment to introducing increased innovation to the healthcare market through our health and medical business unit," said Tod Pike, senior vice president of Samsung Electronics America's Enterprise Business Division. Performance & Design

The Samsung's UGEO H60 combines high performance with the attention to design that has made Samsung a global technology leader. The UGEO H60 features SDMR™ image processing technology, providing sharp 2D images for optimal diagnostic performance and S-Flow™, an innovative function that enables color detection with superior sensitivity, that allows even micro vessels to appear in high resolution. In addition, the UGEO H60's 18.5-inch LED-backlit monitor features Samsung's world-class image processing technologies and Hybrid Imaging Engine to deliver clear, accurate clinical images.

The new ultrasound system integrates Samsung's smart design approach to provide an ergonomic form factor that enhances the user experience. Despite its high-performance, the UGEO H60 offers a slim profile for optimal use in crowded scan rooms. Unlike the bulkiness of existing ultrasound systems, the Samsung UGEO H60 boasts a sophisticated and distinctive appearance that creates a comforting diagnostic environment for patients. Innovative features include a built-in gel warmer, which keeps the ultrasound gel at a temperature between 86 and 102 degrees, helping to ensure patient comfort.

Leveraging Samsung's technology leadership in consumer electronics, the UGEO H60 utilizes the same touch screen display technology as Samsung's award-winning Galaxy Tab 10.1, providing a responsive touch experience combined with a selection of customizable keys and menus for quick operation and efficient workflow. In addition, users can employ the Time Gain Compensator (TGC) function to create and access saved presets for added convenience.
