Convergent announces implementation of PatientQuest patient access solution at Moffitt Cancer Center

Convergent Revenue Cycle Management, Inc., leading provider of healthcare revenue cycle management and patient access solutions to hospitals across the nation, announces today the implementation of their PatientQuest™ patient access solution at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute (Moffitt Cancer Center) in Tampa, Florida. Moffitt Cancer Center is a Siemens Soarian® customer. The program is designed to streamline the patient pre-arrival process to handle increased patient volumes, improve financial reimbursement to the provider, reduce insurance denials associated with patient access issues, and enhance the overall patient experience. As a Siemens Medical Solutions business partner, Convergent's patient access representatives will use the latest patient-focused contact center technology to directly communicate and provide customer service to Moffitt's patients regarding financial clearance, accurate collection of demographic information and insurance benefits verification, in addition to ensuring pre-certification and referral information has been obtained. The alliance between Siemens and Convergent offers Siemens customers a turn-key solution to the patient access challenges they are experiencing through enhanced patient communications with Convergent's PatientQuest and leveraging Siemens solutions and expertise.

"Moffitt Cancer Center is an innovator in the prevention, treatment, and cure of cancer," says Derek Pickell, CEO of Convergent's healthcare division. "We are committed to work with Moffitt to provide patient access and revenue management services that make access to treatment easier through our PatientQuest™ solution. Through Convergent's patient-focused contact center technology, we will be communicating with Moffitt's patients, verifying insurance information, conducting medical necessity screening and obtaining insurance pre-certification and referral information. Our goal is to not only help expedite the patient registration process, but further improve Moffitt's financial performance by decreasing insurance denials associated with the patient access process, accelerating patient throughput during the pre-arrival process, and increasing cash collections to further help in their efforts of providing funding for research, treatment, and education initiatives in cancer. All of this will be achieved while ensuring improved patient and physician satisfaction with the pre-arrival process."

Moffitt is one of only 41 National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers, a distinction that recognizes Moffitt's excellence in research, its contributions to clinical trials, prevention and cancer control. The provider has been listed in U.S. News & World Report as one of "America's Best Hospitals" for cancer since 1999.
