Smashburger, the rapidly expanding better burger restaurant concept, today announced its new partnership with Udi's Gluten Free, rolling out a gluten-free bun offering at all U.S. Smashburger locations. Smashburger will now be one of Udi's top Foodservice accounts, including other top retail clients such as Whole Foods, Trader Joes and Target.

"Smashburger and Udi's share a passion for providing guests with great-tasting, high-quality food, so the partnership was a natural fit for us. We are excited for the opportunity to offer our guests a premium gluten-free bun option in all of our restaurants across the country," commented Rick Schaden, Principal Shareholder of Smashburger. "We have a continued commitment to serving food that our guests can feel good about, comprised of quality ingredients for a better dining experience. Having lived in Boulder for many years, I am proud to announce this new partnership with Udi's Gluten Free, a division of Boulder Brands, Inc."

"Practicing a gluten-free diet is an emerging consumer trend, and Udi's is the clear quality leader in the gluten-free category," commented Tom Ryan, Founder and Chief Concept Officer of Smashburger. "The addition of Udi's gluten-free buns fits in well with our strategy of marketing to consumers looking for healthy menu options."

Since 2010, the gluten-free market has grown more than 200% and shows no signs of slowing down. To meet the growing demand for gluten-free menu items, Smashburger has also reformulated the seasoning that goes on its juicy burgers and tender-marinated grilled chicken sandwiches to be gluten-free. Guests can now order a completely gluten-free entrée option, keeping in mind that some toppings available for add-ons do contain gluten and cross contamination in the kitchen may occur. "Smashburger offers a great tasting burger because of its unwavering commitment to premium ingredients," said Denise Sirovatka, Vice President of Marketing for Udi's. "By adding Udi's buns to its menu, Smashburger is making an American classic available to consumers who are choosing gluten-free."
