Capsule Tech's DataCaptor software named Category Leader for medical device integration systems

NewsGuard 100/100 Score

Capsule Tech, Inc., the leading global provider of medical device information systems (MDIS), today announced its DataCaptor™ software has been named Category Leader for medical device integration systems, according to the annual "2014 Best in KLAS Awards: Software & Services" report, published in January. Capsule's DataCaptor enables hospitals to effectively integrate medical device data into their electronic medical record systems and other enterprise applications.

DataCaptor is healthcare's most widely deployed medical device integration solution. Recently, Capsule introduced SmartLinx™, healthcare's first Medical Device Information System, and a major evolution of DataCaptor. SmartLinx empowers healthcare organizations to harness the power of their medical devices data to enable applications for patient surveillance, alarms and alerts, tracking and device performance, and clinical decision support in both the acute and non-acute settings. Recent SmartLinx product releases feature major advancements in the ability to capture medical device data across the healthcare enterprise and identify patients at risk of deterioration in lower acuity settings.

The annual report conducted by KLAS aims to improve healthcare delivery by enabling users to offer their feedback on the vendor and product. The category leader is a direct result of the feedback received based on vendor performance. Based on the 2014 report naming Capsule's DataCaptor Category Leader, it received an overall performance score of 85.9 out of 100. KLAS scores were determined based on the following key areas: Sales & Contracting, Implementation & Training, Functionality & Upgrades, Service & Support and General Company.

"Like KLAS, we are focused on improving healthcare delivery and offer innovative solutions that enrich the quality of care by helping our customers realize the power and value of their medical device data," stated Gene Cattarina, CEO, Capsule Tech. "This award underscores not only the stability of our products but also our commitment to supporting our customers despite our phenomenal growth to what is now 1,835 customers in 38 countries. It is a real affirmation that our organization is delivering products and services as promised."
