VUEMED announced today that it will be deploying the Impinj xArray® technology as part of its VueTrack-RF™ solution for tracking and managing medical devices and supplies throughout the healthcare supply chain.

VueTrack-RF is VUEMED's Software-as-a-Service solution for tracking medical supplies and assets, as well as locating patients and staff in real time with 99.5% accuracy, using advanced ultra-high frequency RAIN RFID antennas and inexpensive, EPC Gen2 and UDI compliant passive tags. VueTrack-RF turns any space – whether a supply room, procedure room, or warehouse – into a fully automated process tracking system using existing shelving.

The xArray gateway is a fixed infrastructure RAIN RFID reader system that provides always-on, wide-area monitoring of RAIN RFID tagged items within a facility or across a global supply chain. xArray provides reliable, continuous monitoring within hospital procedure rooms and storage areas. VUEMED is deploying the xArray gateways in addition to Impinj Speedway® readers and zonal antennas.

"VUEMED is dramatically improving healthcare clinical operations with its Continuous Process Tracking approach to RFID, using GS1, EPC Gen 2 and UDI standards-based RF technologies along with our VueTrack-RF tracking applications. Now, hospital staff can spend time optimizing processes to enhance patient care rather than focusing on transactions and billing accuracy. The VueTrack-RF system automatically converts operating processes to systemic transactions with extreme accuracy," commented Joe Dugan, President of VueTrack-RF.

"We are creating innovative and cost effective solutions with the Impinj xArray gateway system to enable hospitals to fully control their clinical inventory, assets, patients, staff, and documentation processes while ensuring hands-free and virtually error-proof tracking of any item at a cost of at least a third less than our nearest competitors," stated Arnold Chazal, CEO of VUEMED.

"We're thrilled to be working with VUEMED to bring this technology and Item Intelligence™ to healthcare. Healthcare will continue to be one of the main industries of focus for Impinj and it is exciting to support VUEMED in solving some of the industry's most challenging business problems," said Ken Nickel, Strategic Accounts Manager at Impinj. "According to numerous sources, the medical products market worldwide is estimated at around $340 billion, and growing 6-7% per year, yet the industry's supply chain is highly fragmented, inefficient, and lacking traceability of clinically critical items from manufacturing to the patient."
