Scientific Herbal Advances, an applicant for one of the State's five medical marihuana licenses to be awarded by the Department of Health this summer, has received the endorsement of Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus. In a letter addressed to Governor Andrew Cuomo and Department of Health Commissioner Dr. Howard Zucker, Steven Neuhaus has expressed his endorsement of Integrated Scientific Herbal Advances as they strive towards obtaining a New York State medicinal marihuana license.
"I met personally with Dr. Sawhney and his team, and am impressed by the qualifications Dr. Sawhney described and Integrated Scientific Herbal Advances' interest in pursuing medical opportunities to provide relief to New York State residents for a variety of illnesses," wrote Neuhaus.
The group, if approved, plans to open a state-of-the-art grow facility in Goshen, New York, as well as dispensaries located in Manhattan, Binghamton, Rochester and Mineola, respectively.
"I am grateful for the support of the county executive and remain hopeful that the department of health will recognize the importance of having doctors at the forefront of this medical marihuana process," said Dr. Sawhney.
"Under Dr. Sawhney's leadership we have won the local governing body support in Goshen and now that of the County Executive. These governmental leaders know their communities and the value Scientific Herbal Advances can bring in terms of employment opportunities, medical advancements and tax revenue. We are grateful for their support and look forward to having the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of New York patients," added Eldridge Hawkins, Chief Security Officer/VP of Government Affairs.
