Founded on 25th February 1977, the design and manufacturing partner for leading life-saving medical technology has enjoyed success on a global scale.

As the “go-to” contract design, development, manufacturing and consultancy partner for some of the biggest names in MedTech, the ITL Group has established operations in Shanghai, China and Richmond, Virginia, USA, in addition to their headquarters in Ashford, Kent, UK.

To celebrate the 40th landmark, the ITL Group have invested in a brand refresh and new website to reflect their global growth. The award-winning company is also hosting a grand event at Lympne Castle in Kent on the anniversary date for staff from across the globe.

The event will feature a company awards presentation, honouring employees for their contributions over the past four decades. Special guest The Rt Hon Damian Green MP is also attending on the day.

ITL Group has more than 100 staff worldwide. During 40 years in the industry ITL has completed over 400 projects – from humble beginnings developing gamma counters for radio-immunoassays, today they have a portfolio including in-vitro diagnostics (IVD), point-of-care devices, surgical robots, cancer staging and treatment, patient connected medical devices, and next generation DNA sequencing as well as expertise in the development of consumables.

Tom Cole, ITL Group’s CEO, said: “This is such an exciting time for us and it’s great to celebrate this anniversary with our loyal employees from all over the globe. We’re nothing without the expertise and dedication of our team so for the 40th anniversary what was most important to us was saying thank you to them.”

The industry has come a long way in the last four decades and we’ve seen significant developments in the processes and technology that we use, however what hasn’t changed is our ethos - to enhance lives through medical technology. We’re honoured to mark 40 years in the industry and are proud of all the life saving innovations we’ve helped realise during that time.”

Tom Cole, CEO of ITL Group

He added, “Even though we’ve been around for 40 years and have built a strong reputation, we continually need to affirm our global position. This rebrand was all about showing that we’re a global player and communicating our abilities to take medical devices to new markets.”

ITL was founded as Wilj International in 1977. In 2013 there was a management buyout which saw Directors Paddy Greenwood, Tom Cole and Greg Smith complete the buyout from ITL’s previous Swiss owners.

Since starting out the ITL group has grown from strength to strength each year. 2016 been a strong year for the company,  recording a profit of over £1.5 million.
