    The article claims the only drawback to Golden Rice is public wariness but there is one other drawback: it still doesn't work.  After >25 years of development, it wasn't even submitted for approval in the Philippines until last year after a long series setbacks with the agronomy and the trait.  It is still in test plots in Bangladesh.  Furthermore IRRI, the  rice research institute that is leading the development, says it still needs to be determined if it will actually raise vitamin A levels in the target population of under-nourished kids.
