MedeAnalytics, a leading provider of healthcare performance management
solutions, announced today that adoption of the company’s Patient Access
Intelligence (PAI) solution by hospitals around the country has been
robust since its introduction earlier this year and continues to grow,
according to Mike Gallagher, chief executive officer of MedeAnalytics.
Orlando Health, Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Centers in New York,
University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS), and Wheaton Franciscan
Healthcare have adopted PAI, officially launched in 2009 at HFMA’s Fall
Revenue Cycle Strategies Conference in Chicago.

“Rapid
marketplace adoption confirms that by delivering one integrated solution
to manage the entire financial clearance process, PAI provides the
      solution hospitals seek.”

Henry J. Franey, chief financial officer of UMMS, commented, "We are
anticipating the integration of the MedeAnalytics product as a critical
tool to drive process change in our Access departments across the
University of Maryland Medical System healthcare institutions. The
MedeAnalytics tool will improve the accuracy of patient demographic
information, and will also improve the patient's registration and
financial experience through the Revenue Cycle.”

Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Centers has seen significant improvements
in registration accuracy rates with MedeAnalytics, according to Domenic
Segalla, senior vice president of finance. “We are proud to say that we
have made great progress in the correction of front-end errors
identified by MedeAnalytics. Our clean discharge rate went from 78.13
percent in July to 99.22 percent in October, and the clean bill rate has
increased from 80.49 percent in July to 100 percent in October. These
efforts have a direct impact on the hospital getting paid accurately.”

“MedeAnalytics’ solutions bring greater efficiencies to our patient
access processes,” says Coreen Dicus-Johnson, senior vice president of
revenue operations at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare, a 13-hospital
system in Wisconsin. “Most notably, MedeAnalytics allows us to provide
our patients with more comprehensive estimates on what their services
will cost, something patients are yearning for in today’s complex
      healthcare environment.”

“Every hospital CFO today is looking for a solution that will accurately
estimate out-of-pocket expense, set patient payment expectations, and
increase front-end cash collections,” said Gallagher, noting that the
growing bad debt challenge to hospitals is aggravated by cost shifting
(benefit buydown), rising unemployment — to be followed by new coverage
options contained in proposed health reform legislation. “Rapid
marketplace adoption confirms that by delivering one integrated solution
to manage the entire financial clearance process, PAI provides the
      solution hospitals seek.”
