Prime Therapeutics LLC (Prime), a thought leader in pharmacy benefit management, announced today that it has received full accreditation from the URAC Accreditation Committee for its mail-service pharmacy, PrimeMail®. Prime is also accredited in Pharmacy Benefit Management, having received accreditation by URAC in 2007 and Drug Therapy Management in 2008.

URAC offers a mail service pharmacy accreditation program because it is one of the key distribution channels for pharmacy benefit management and reinforces its goal to encourage best practices, promote quality improvement and protect and empower consumers. In order to receive mail service pharmacy accreditation, PrimeMail was required to meet five standards in: core organizational quality; customer service, communications and disclosure; mail drug management and pharmacy operations.

"We are very pleased to now be fully accredited in pharmacy benefit management and in mail service pharmacy," said Keith McFalls, Vice President of PrimeMail Operations, Prime Therapeutics. "This achievement underscores our ongoing commitment to providing the highest levels of member satisfaction, quality service, while ensuring efficiency in cost management."

Prime's fully integrated mail-service pharmacy provides safe, convenient and cost-effective home delivery of prescriptions and supports members throughout the process by providing around the clock customer service, online access to prescription information and history, new orders, transfers and refills. Additionally, PrimeMail helps manage total health care spend by offering employers and members generic substitutions, no dispensing fees, discounts on brand- name and generic drugs and increased adherence to essential medications through 90-day supply.

URAC's standards address a range of industry practices including: organizational quality, customer service/communications/disclosure, pharmacy distribution channels, formulary/pharmacy and therapeutics and drug utilization management.
