The AFA and IntegraMed partner to provide innovative fertility education programs

Patients dealing with infertility face many uncertainties, but now there is one place to find a comprehensive guide to almost every aspect of infertility treatment. The American Fertility Association (The AFA), a national non-profit family building organization which provides educational resources and support to men and women, especially those trying to conceive, and Attain Fertility(TM), the consumer service web destination of IntegraMed (INMD), the leader in developing and managing specialty healthcare networks in fertility and vein care, are partnering together to provide a one-of-a-kind educational opportunity for patients available in the comfort of their own homes.

Using a generous grant from IntegraMed, The AFA is creating a series of 20 Fact Sheets to add to its already robust online library. The topics range from the clinical aspect of the disease state, such as endometriosis, to the more personal side of the journey, including subjects such as anxiety surrounding fertility medication injections. Each Fact Sheet provides comprehensive information, and is embedded with a brief video, featuring experts presenting an overview of the topic.

"We appreciate the generous support from IntegraMed on this project," says Ken Mosesian, Executive Director of The AFA. "We are now able to offer those having difficulty conceiving or diagnosed with infertility an even more complete resource for their needs." Mosesian continues, "Presenting educational materials in this way gives consumers the choice to watch the video overviews, read the complete Fact Sheets, or both. The AFA's goal is to help consumers ask the best questions possible when speaking with their health care providers, so they can make the best choices about creating their families."

The AFA is committed to supporting men and women in creating their families by continually providing updated educational material and outreach events on infertility prevention, reproductive health and family building. The AFA's website features an extensive online library, weekly newsletter, webinars and toll-free help line which are part of the many tools available to consumers free of charge. Pam Schumann, President of IntegraMed's Consumer Services Division, says, "We are thrilled to be working with The AFA on this project. We are dedicated to helping consumers understand their options in overcoming infertility and offering affordable course-of-treatment options that improve success with IVF."

The AFA and IntegraMed are delighted to work together, and are confident these Fact Sheets will make the journey to parenthood a little easier.
