Wellpartner, a nationally recognized provider of pharmacy distribution services, today announced an agreement with Community Health Center La Clinica and Custom Prescription Shoppe Pharmacy to provide patients access to low-cost medications using Wellpartner's 340B Access Solution™. The agreement will allow patients who qualify to purchase deeply-discounted prescription medications at Community Health Center La Clinica's newly established in-house pharmacy as well as through a network of retail pharmacies in the area.

“The combination of an in-house pharmacy and a retail network will expand the range and reach of their program and help lower the overall cost of staying healthy in the Tri-City area.”

Community Health Center La Clinica's pharmacy will be located at the main Medical Office building at 515 West Court Street in Pasco, and operate under the CPS name. Through the Wellpartner 340B Access Solution, Community Health Center La Clinica will also contract with select retail pharmacies in the region and allow them to offer the Health Center's patients the same discount prescription prices, greatly increasing patient access and convenience.

Patients of Community Health Center La Clinica have benefited from its 340B program since 2007. "Working with Wellpartner allows us to expand the ease with which Tri-City families can take full advantage of this drug discount program," said Carl I. Walters II., Chief Executive Officer, Community Health Center La Clinica. "Establishing an in-house pharmacy at the main office in Pasco, WA and expanding the network of contract pharmacies in Richland, Kennewick and Pasco provides a whole new level of care, cost savings and convenience for our patients," added Walters.

Community Health Center La Clinica is the latest in a growing number of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) in the Pacific Northwest that are using Wellpartner's 340B Access Solution. The program allows FQHCs to purchase prescription drugs at significant discounts (averaging 50% below retail prices), then make those drugs available to their patients at reduced prices.

"We're excited that Community Health Center La Clinica chose us to administer their program," said Michael Wright, Wellpartner President and CEO. "The combination of an in-house pharmacy and a retail network will expand the range and reach of their program and help lower the overall cost of staying healthy in the Tri-City area."

Walters added, "We are very pleased to work with Wellpartner. They share our values, customer service philosophy and commitment to making medications affordable for our valued Tri-City Families."
