SeqWright, RainDance Technologies partner to offer RainStorm microdroplet-based PCR technology

NewsGuard 100/100 Score

SeqWright Inc., a world-wide leader in custom genomic and molecular biology services, announced today the expansion of its service portfolio by partnering with RainDance Technologies to offer the company's innovative RainStorm™ microdroplet-based PCR technology.  SeqWright recognizes the growing demand from life science researchers for more efficient and cost-effective processes that allow for automated workflows providing greater confidence in results to meet the needs of large-scale resequencing studies.

The Sequence Enrichment application from RainDance Technologies enables SeqWright customers to leverage the sensitivity and specificity of gold-standard PCR in a novel microdroplet-based format that avoids the limitations of traditional multi-plex amplification or hybridization capture methods.  With the RainStorm microdroplet-based technology researchers can amplify hundreds to thousands of genomic loci with high specificity and uniformity, allowing them to greatly reduce study time, or to improve study quality by running more samples in the same time within the same experimental budget.

As a genomics research and CLIA-certified facility, the RainStorm system enhances SeqWright's targeted resequencing and whole-genome sequencing capabilities for disease pathway studies, cancer research and much more.

"We're pleased to partner with SeqWright to provide our microdroplet PCR-based solution in conjunction with the company's next-generation sequencing services," said Christopher McNary, Chief Commercial Officer of RainDance Technologies. "Microdroplet-based PCR is the new gold standard for sequence enrichment and allows for the performance of faster, more accurate DNA sequencing with high-resolution analysis, a focus area of SeqWright's customers."
