KQED: 'Village Movement' Trend in Senior Living Leads Agenda at Aging Conference
Surveys show most Americans want to stay in their own homes as they reach retirement age. But to do that, people need a strong support system — especially if they have medical issues. As the American Society on Aging kicked off its national conference today in San Francisco, seminars dedicated to a recent trend called the "Village Movement" led the agenda. It's a model of care designed to keep seniors in their homes by making sure they have everything they need (Martin, 4/26).
