Elsevier, a pioneer in providing e-learning and performance solutions to more than 1,300 healthcare organizations, announced today its collaboration with the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) to review and update the Maternal-Newborn Skills within Mosby's Nursing Skills, providing users with the highest quality content possible.

"Nurses need access to specific, evidence-based information which they can reference at any time," said AWHONN's Chief Executive Officer, Karen Peddicord, RNC, PhD. "In partnership with AWHONN's expert reviewers, Mosby's Nursing Skills is an excellent resource for nurses who work in specialty fields, including our members who work primarily in the field of obstetric and newborn nursing."

A combined reference product and competency management system, Mosby's Nursing Skills is a comprehensive resource designed to meet the nurse education and training needs of healthcare organizations. The many skills within Mosby's Nursing Skills were developed in collaboration with various top-tier nursing organizations, including the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) and the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN).

"We are dedicated to working alongside highly respected organizations like AWHONN in order to provide our customers with the best product that will lead to enhanced patient safety and overall increased quality of care," said Barbara Nelson Cullen, Vice President, Strategy and Content Development, Elsevier.

Elsevier will work with AWHONN in reviewing the Maternal-Newborn skills to ensure that the content presented is consistent with AWHONN's Standards and Guidelines.

Mosby's Nursing Skills will be showcased by Elsevier / MC Strategies at the annual AWHONN convention, June 25-29, in Denver, Colo., as part of Mosby's Nursing Suite, an online nursing solution that provides training, education, skills reference, and support at the point of care.
