ACU agrees to partner with AlphaGalileo Foundation

The Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) and AlphaGalileo Foundation Ltd have agreed to collaborate to promote research being carried out around the world by ACU's 500 member universities.

The ACU was established in 1913. It is the oldest and one of the largest inter-university networks in the world. The ACU's role remains important in the increasingly international field of higher education. Creating awareness and raising the profiles of ACU's members is vital, given that the market for students and staff is global one; research funds are often allocated on international, collaborative basis;. It is and academic reputations are based on global connections.

AlphaGalileo is the world's independent research news service provided by AlphaGalileo Foundation Ltd, which is an independent UK-based not for profit company. The Service aims to meets the needs of both the media and research communities around the world. The Foundation works with leading research bodies and media. The service is provided in a multi-lingual environment.

"ACU member universities are carrying out significant research that has global relevance. Access to the AlphaGalileo service, will give our universities the chance to reach a global media audience," commented Professor John Wood, Secretary-General of ACU.

The collaboration will offer ACU member universities outside of the UK discounted subscriptions to AlphaGalileo Service.

Both organisations hope that further opportunities for collaboration will arise in the future.
