AOptix Technologies, Inc., (AOptix) (www.aoptix.com), a leading provider of advanced optical technologies and products, today announced that Unisys, a worldwide information technology company, has become an AOptix strategic alliance partner. Unisys will offer AOptix InSight® iris recognition and face capture systems to its customers using biometrics for identity verification, national border management and aviation security.

AOptix iris recognition solutions already process tens of thousands of biometric transactions per day. Applications include aviation security at Gatwick Airport in London and other major airports, and immigration control such as all the air, land and sea border crossings in the State of Qatar. AOptix has earned a respected reputation by transforming the biometrics industry with leading edge products that are fast, accurate, and easy to use in large populations.

"Iris recognition is a non-contact, non-invasive technology approach that is very accurate for high confidence authentication," said Terry Hartmann, Vice President for Global Security Solutions at Unisys. "Unisys will be integrating AOptix products into the proven Unisys LEIDA (Library of eID Artifacts software) framework, which creates building blocks for identity and credentialing solutions to accelerate development and reduce implementation time."

"From national identity programs to busy aviation checkpoints, our InSight systems are well suited for high throughput, high volume deployments where ease of use is critical - especially when language barriers are present. Subjects of all heights simply stand in the large capture zone, look at the system, and we do the rest in seconds," said Dale Bastian, Vice President of Sales at AOptix.
