Atherotech Diagnostics Lab, a leading clinical reference laboratory specializing in cardiometabolic testing and disease management solutions, today announced the opening of its patient service center in Sarasota, Fla. A physician open house on Wednesday, November 6, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at 4014 Sawyer Road in Sarasota, Fla., celebrates the opening of the center.

The new center enables area physicians and medical practices to send patients directly to the service center for the VAP±® Lipid Panel comprehensive cholesterol profile instead of having to go through third-party laboratory service centers. This patient service center will be staffed by Atherotech professionals, who will provide high quality patient care and specimen collection.

"This brings the physician and patient closer to the VAP+ Lipid Panel, making it convenient for area residents and their providers to access the most comprehensive assessment of heart disease risk and subsequent prevention strategies available," said Atherotech Vice President of Business Operations Alan Hokanson.

Hokanson said the center adds to the growing number of Atherotech Patient Service Centers nationwide to keep up with increasing demand for the VAP+ Lipid Panel.

Sarasota location will be open from Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Patients with a physician's order simply visit the center and provide a blood draw, which is then sent directly to Atherotech's laboratory in Birmingham, Ala., for processing.
