Experts examine research on low-and-no-calorie sweeteners and effect on weight management

Three leading experts will examine the research on low-and-no-calorie sweeteners and their effect on weight loss and weight management as part of ObesityWeek, the first joint meeting of The Obesity Society and the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. Drs. James Hill, Suzanne Phelan and Christine Rosenbloom will review the science, regulation and effectiveness of low- and no-calorie sweeteners found in a wide range of foods and beverages, from low- and no-calorie beverages to yogurt. Speaking on Thursday at a breakfast panel entitled "Setting the Record Straight: Making Sense of the Data on Low- and No-Calorie Sweeteners in Weight Management," the experts also will debunk some of the common myths, as well as address the benefits, associated with these ingredients.
