Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Canada to be published by Elsevier
Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, has announced that it has been selected by the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC) to publish its journal, Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Canada (JOGC), as of January 2016.
Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Canada, the official peer-reviewed publication of the SOGC, is published 12 times a year. JOGC is the original publication source of evidence-based clinical guidelines, committee opinions, and policy statements that derive from standing or ad hoc committees of the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada; JOGC retains editorial independence from the SOGC.
"The move to Elsevier, a top-ranked publisher in the world, is a major step forward for the JOGC. Elsevier will provide many improvements and new services for our members, our authors and reviewers, for both the online and print editions of the journal. Congratulations to Editor-in-Chief Tim Rowe and the entire editorial board for getting the JOGC to this very exciting level!" said Dr. Margaret Burnett, SOGC President.
"We are delighted to begin working with the SOGC, and we have long admired JOGC as a high-quality publication which adds great value to the obstetrics and gynecology literature. We believe that the journal will further grow and succeed in its mission and goals in the coming years," said Sarah Barth, Publisher, Health and Medical Science Journals at Elsevier.
