rL Solutions, the leading provider of healthcare quality and safety software, announced today that its claims management software, Claims MonitorPro(R) (CMPro) can assist healthcare organizations in meeting the new CMS Section 111 reporting requirements.

CMPro helps healthcare organizations significantly reduce the effort needed to manage medical malpractice claims while simultaneously increasing the quality of information. Having the ability to simply export the data in the required format will help healthcare organizations reduce the burden of reporting required by CMS Section 111.

With CMS Second Payor Reporting taking effect in 2010, healthcare organizations need a quick and easy way to get all mandatory information to CMS without a tremendous amount of manual effort. CMPro from rL Solutions already offers the ability to capture and manage all aspects of a claim; financial tracking, document storage, loss/run reporting, aggregate erosion, loss triangles and litigation management. The latest version of CMPro now includes a simple export from that will gather the claims information along with additional CMS requested data and translate that information into the CMS specified format.

"Section 111 is an important new development in healthcare, but it does represent a significant amount of work for organizations that do not have an electronic means to capture and reformat claims data the way CMS requires," said Colin Hung, Vice-President, Marketing & Alliances, rL Solutions. "By incorporating Section 111 capabilities, we are trying to make it simple and easy for our clients to be able to meet the new CMS reporting requirements."

CMS Section 111 export functionality will be available in the next update of CMPro, in time for organizations to test reporting beginning in January 2010.
