Southeast Anesthesiology Consultants (SAC) has become an alpha site for the first national anesthesia data registry developed by the Anesthesia Quality Institute (AQI).
The primary mechanism for achieving AQI's objective will be a national data registry for anesthesia. The data registry will strive to achieve multiple conceptual goals, including clinical research, benchmarking, public reporting, Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesiology (MOCA), and credentialing.
SAC's physicians were chosen to be an initial alpha site because of their high level of quality and their use of Quantum Clinical Navigation System, a data software system that tracks 50 quality indicators throughout the perioperative process.
"Southeast Anesthesiology Consultants has been a leader in quality management for over a decade," said Richard P. Dutton, MD, MBA, Executive Director of AQI. "The level of data that they are able to provide is exactly what AQI needed for an alpha partner."
SAC's dedication to demonstrable quality, patient safety and comfort has motivated our physicians to develop Quantum Clinical Navigation System over the past 10 years.
"We are pleased that AQI has recognized our efforts and are proud to partner with them," remarked Richard L. Gilbert, MD, MBA, Chairman and CEO of Southeast Anesthesiology Consultants.
Quantum Clinical Navigation System, a subsidiary of Southeast Anesthesiology Consultants, will also be one of the first approved vendors for AQI's national data registry.
"In the alpha phase of our relationship, Quantum will work with AQI to align our data for easy submission to the registry. As AQI Certified software, Quantum will provide our clients with the seamless ability to participate in the AQI national registry," said John Kunysz, COO of Quantum Clinical Navigation System.
