NHSI achieves 100% provider adoption rate of HealthPort’s EMR technology

HealthPort, a top-25 company in the healthcare information technology industry, today announced that National Health Services, Inc. (NHSI), a 12-site Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with locations throughout Kern County, California, has achieved 100% provider adoption of HealthPort’s Electronic Medical Record (EMR) technology.

“In particular, we feel their 100% provider adoption rate reflects HealthPort’s commitment to sustained, mutually-successful customer relationships”

NHSI offers a comprehensive healthcare delivery system linked to hospitals, nursing homes, and federal, state and local healthcare agencies. HealthPort EMR, a leading CCHIT-certified solution for practices, clinics and community health centers, helps them create and sustain these links.

With high EMR failure rates and mounting national pressure to adopt electronic records, the success of NHSI bodes well for both the organization and HealthPort, their EMR partner. HealthPort boasts an industry-leading track record of successful implementation with more than 80% of EMR installations fully live and operational for one year or more.

“We started with HealthPort EMR in October 2007 and have witnessed steady progress ever since,” mentions Petrus Tjandra, Director of General Services, National Health Services, Inc. Tjandra and his team used an incremental approach to EMR implementation, initiating one site at a time. Each location was given six months to become fully functional on the new EMR and return to baseline productivity levels; including 100% physician usage of electronic templates for clinical documentation.

“NHSI’s success reflects the strong dedication of their implementation team and the flexibility of HealthPort’s physician documentation templates,” mentions Steve Emery, Director of Product Management for HealthPort. Tjandra agrees and adds, “In a multi-clinic structure with each site at a different stage of EMR adoption, providers must be flexible and modify the system when necessary. HealthPort was extremely supportive and we’ve had a good relationship with them from the beginning.”

“We are excited by the EMR success NHSI has achieved through their partnership with us,” comments Mike Labedz, CEO of HealthPort. “In particular, we feel their 100% provider adoption rate reflects HealthPort’s commitment to sustained, mutually-successful customer relationships,” he concludes.
