Prolucent Workforce Management acquires intellectual property assets from Symbio Solutions

Prolucent Workforce Management, the leading partner for healthcare providers seeking to optimize deployment of their workforce, today announced the acquisition of intellectual property assets from Symbio Solutions, Inc. The asset acquisition further strengthens Prolucent's best-of-breed workforce management software platform and will help Prolucent deliver even greater value to the more than 1,000 acute-care hospitals and staffing agencies it currently serves.

“We are committed to providing great solutions and services to our clients, both today and as they navigate the unprecedented clinical workforce challenges that will define the coming decade.”

Prolucent will continue to support healthcare providers using Symbio's technology and will actively work to provide them with additional value through its comprehensive agency management services offering. Prolucent will also continue to strengthen its leading vendor management system (VMS) technology by incorporating key product features from Symbio's technology into its existing VMS platform, including biometric clocks, which provide hospitals with another streamlined methodology for tracking the hours worked by agency staff.

"We are focused on delivering a best-practice, comprehensive workforce management solution to the healthcare industry, and we're doing that by investing in our internal product development, key strategic partnerships, as well as select acquisitions such as the Symbio transaction," said Prolucent Senior Vice President Jeff Ondeck. "We are committed to providing great solutions and services to our clients, both today and as they navigate the unprecedented clinical workforce challenges that will define the coming decade."

Prolucent is the new workforce management brand of Broadlane, which entered the workforce management space nearly a decade ago. As a standalone brand, Prolucent is deepening its commitment to deliver innovative solutions that enable healthcare providers to optimize the deployment of their clinical workforce.

Key components of Prolucent's workforce management approach include:

  • Vendor Management System (VMS) Technology: Prolucent's Web-based VMS software enables healthcare providers to promote agency staff quality, vendor service levels and contract compliance through online real-time management of requisition, fulfillment, credential management, time-tracking payments and reporting of agency staff.
  • Web-based Staff Scheduling Technology: Prolucent's scheduling platform is an entirely Web-based application that requires minimal IT investment and is based on intuitive calendar-based schedules, drag-and-drop functionality and browser-based navigation.
  • Agency Management Services: To best understand unique local labor challenges and deliver the most impactful results possible to clients, Prolucent account managers live and work in local markets rather than a centralized location.
  • Agency Strategic Sourcing Services: Prolucent's broad agency contract portfolio includes hundreds of staffing agencies throughout the U.S., and delivers clients better pricing and service levels based on the aggregated purchasing power of Prolucent's client base.
