e-MDs, an industry leader in the development and implementation of electronic health records (EHRs) and practice management (PM) solutions, is proud to announce it has increased its total employee count by 36%, expanding most all departments with both entry level and senior positions. e-MDs has also experienced a 36.5% increase in organic sales alone since the beginning of 2010. In particular, the company anticipates significant growth in the areas of provider training, implementation, customer support, health information exchanges, public health programs (e.g., the Patient Centered Medical Home), practice optimization, patient safety initiatives, research, design, development, quality assurance, content development, and education.

e-MDs' escalation in hiring began in early 2009 and has maintained a steady climb through the first quarter of 2010. Departments that have seen the greatest expansion are research, development, support, and implementation. Research and development gains reflect the company's commitment to stay at the forefront of the technology curve while maintaining pace with evolving industry standards and requirements.

In order to maintain the highest quality of customer care as our client base continues to expand, e-MDs has focused on expanding its team of dedicated client services representatives. The company has a track record of controlled growth that emphasizes providing the highest level of support to its customers. e-MDs' projected future client growth will continue to create jobs in Austin for the foreseeable future.

"We feel well-positioned to play a central role in the expansion of the health information technology industry given our track records of success with small to medium sized primary care and specialty practices," said Dr. Michael Stearns, President and CEO of e-MDs. "In response to the dramatic increase in demand for our products and services, we have been expanding our internal workforce and refining a certification program for implementation partners."

"e-MDs is also lending its expertise to educational institutions by helping to create training and certification programs for health information technology (HIT), one of the fastest growing sectors of the economy," stated Patrick Hall, Executive Vice President of Business Development at e-MDs. "We are working with tertiary educational institutions to develop curriculum that will build an educated HIT workforce. As we move forward with growth and expansions within the company, e-MDs will continue to be a thought leader, advancing industry efforts to better HIT education locally and nationwide," concluded Hall.
