TriWest earns third consecutive Health Network reaccreditation from URAC

Successfully managing a network of 170,000-plus providers and meeting high compliance standards earned TriWest Healthcare Alliance yet another recertification from URAC, a national leader in promoting quality health care.

This is the third consecutive URAC Health Network reaccreditation for TriWest, which has been accredited since 2005. TriWest manages TRICARE—the U.S. military's healthcare plan—for 2.9 million military members, retirees and families in 21 western states. TriWest's provider network stretches from Missouri to Hawaii.

"It's our mission to serve our customers in the very best ways possible—and the URAC Health Network accreditation lets our military members and families know they're getting great care and service from a high-quality network of providers," said TriWest President and CEO David J. McIntyre, Jr.

TriWest's Case, Disease and Utilization Management programs also are fully URAC-accredited programs and have been since 2007.

'A Mark of Distinction'

As part of the Health Network reaccreditation process, URAC reviewed several TriWest departments, including provider services, information technology, quality, contact center and training.

URAC also examined TriWest's:

  • Scope of services
  • Provider network management and credentialing
  • Consumer protection

"We applaud TriWest on achieving URAC Health Network reaccreditation," said Alan P. Spielman, URAC president and CEO. "In today's healthcare market, URAC accreditation provides a mark of distinction for organizations to demonstrate their commitment to quality health care."
