SoftTech Health LLC of New York announces a partnership with the College
of American Pathologists (CAP) to bring state-of-the-art accreditation
management tools to clinical laboratories worldwide. Laboratory test
results are said to drive the majority of all patient care
decision-making, meaning that rigorous quality management (QM) of
laboratory services is essential to safe and timely patient care. The
CAP and SoftTech Health represent two of the widely-adopted QM providers
in the clinical laboratory industry, and they have joined forces to
leverage their expertise in laboratory accreditation and QM software,
respectively.
As the "gold standard" provider of choice for clinical lab quality
management guidance and accreditation checklists, the CAP's clients have
come to rely upon CAP not only for accreditation but for the time-saving
tools necessary to achieve accreditation. Software firm SoftTech Health
is the developer of the Quality Management Software used by America's
post prestigious healthcare providers, including Duke Health, Cleveland
Clinic, and National Naval Medical Center. This marks the CAP's only
partnership with a QMS software vendor. The CAP selected SoftTech Health
after an intensive evaluation process of several years' duration. Based
on SoftTech Health's track record as a leading provider in the
healthcare industry, the CAP chose the firm to develop this initiative.
Consisting of a module to manage CAP Accreditation Checklists, the new
system can be integrated with SoftTech Health's LabQMS™ Quality
Management Software (QMS) system and other vendors' Document Management
or Document Control systems. The checklists will be automatically batch
imported into the system each time the CAP makes changes to the
checklists, while cross-walking the lab's existing supporting evidence,
observations, notes, etc. This means the lab can re-purpose the work
they have done on prior versions of accreditation checklists while
remaining current with the CAP. Proactive obsolescence functions will be
automatically triggered for archived checklist items, further assisting
the lab to remain up to date. Interactive tools for sharing checklists
within the lab, with customizable activity menus, will enhance
collaboration for large and multi-disciplinary labs who struggle with
this process. The objective of the SoftTech Health/CAP Partnership
enables laboratories' regulatory compliance efforts to be strengthened
and supported, ultimately improving the quality of patient care.
