RaySearch Laboratories AB (STO:RAYB) has received an order for its RayStation® treatment planning from Consorcio Hospitalario Provincial de Castellón in Castellón, Spain.

Consorcio Hospitalario Provincial de Castellón is the health care institution that is responsible for oncology care in the Castellón province with 540,000 inhabitants. The clinic's Oncological Insitute treats more than 1,200 patients annually using all forms of external radiation therapy and brachytherapy.

Dr. Carlos Ferrer, General Manager of the Oncological Insitute, says: "Raystation® is a dynamic tool with very advanced functionality. Compared with other systems, it offers the users more possibilities to interact and incorporate ideas and suggestions. This means that the product development at RaySearch will benefit from the knowledge generation in the clinic and vice versa. In my view, RayStation® is the treatment planning system for users who seek a tool with unlimited possibilities".

Agustin Santos, Director of Radiation Physics, adds:"The integration of this new treatment planning system in the department workflow means a significant qualitative improvement in the area of clinical dosimetry of external radiation treatments. The collaboration between our center, RaySearch and the regional distributor Bioterra, will open multiple possibilities for the development of high-end techniques in radiation oncology, and provide new research topics for our Physics department. Participating in the commissioning and development of such a system is very exciting, even more so considering that the system is considered as a new reference in treatment planning."

Johan Löf, CEO of RaySearch Laboratories AB says: "Last year was a great year for us with orders for more than 100 RayStation® systems. 2013 has started on the same note and with this first order from Spain we now have RayStation® customers in 12 different countries. We are very excited that Consorcio Hospitalario Provincial de Castellón selected RayStation®. This is a great clinic and we look forward to supporting them to implement RayStation® together with our excellent Spanish distribution partner Bioterra".
