Arsenic has many facets. Arsenic compounds are not only deadly poisons to which many crowned heads fell victim in previous eras, but in small doses arsenic was also given to horses because it promotes appetite and the growth of hair. In this way, horse traders could revitalize old nags and sell them for more money.
The current draft for the United States Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) standard (“Chapter 232/233”) once again tightens the limiting values for several metallic compounds compared with the previous versions. The tighter restrictions force even modern analytical procedures to their limits.
SPECTRO invite you to attend an informational Webinar on May 14, 2013 on this important subject: The analysis of semi-metals and metals in medicines. Their expert, Willi Barger, will cast light on these regulations and demonstrate practical ways and means for conforming with these new analytical standards by using ICP mass spectrometry and the SPECTRO MS spectrometer.
Attendees should plan to take part in this Webinar if they:
-
Want to learn more about the differences between the European and American standards,
-
Want to differentiate between USP-conforming technologies ICP-OES and ICP-MS and,
-
Want to know more about conforming to standards in practice.
Looking for reading material as preparation for the Webinar? SPECTRO have made their White Paper about this topic available for free download.
