From the 25th till 28th September, the Husserl-Archiv of the University of Cologne together with the Gesellschaft für phänomenologische Forschung (The German Society for phenomenological Research) is holding a conference on the theme of social experience. There will be a wide spectrum of subjects: the most current research on intersubjectivity, ethics, social action, caring, the social brain, social feelings, the person, psychology and politics will be discussed in 44 lectures and nine sections.

"With this conference, we want to define the situation of phenomenology in the context of contemporary philosophy and interdisciplinary research," explains Prof. Dr. Dieter Lohmar, director of the Husserl-Archiv. Various methodological approaches from the disciplines of phenomenology, neurology, psychology, psychiatry, sociology and pedagogy are therefore the focus of the conference. "It is essential that there is a fruitful exchange of ideas and methods," says Lohmar.

Participation is free of charge and those interested can register informally per e-mail.
