Valley Behavioral Health launches technology-based program to improve healthcare services to patients

Valley Behavioral Health is launching a technology-based program to better understand a patient's health status and predict likely receptivity and compliance to treatment -- all of which is designed to greatly improve healthcare services to its patients throughout its regional service area.

Teaming with Burlington, Mass.-based Predilytics, Valley Behavioral Health will implement advanced analytics and predictive modeling, utilizing previously untapped data sources to better understand a patient's individual health status and the treatments most likely to be successful.

"This is a first for Utah and will allow us to delve deeper into healthcare and other data to provide actionable, consumer-level insights into not only what happened and why, but also to predict behavior," said Gary Larcenaire, CEO, Valley Behavioral Health. "We're asserting major quality improvements by investing in technology that will deliver better care to every patient throughout the Valley service areas."

Launching in April, this innovative service will help Valley best deploy its state-of-the-art community treatment program to those they can help the most, thereby improving the overall health of the clients they serve.

"We are pleased to partner with Valley Behavioral Health in this important effort," said Chris Coloian, Predilytics CEO. "By utilizing traditional, new and expanded sources of information, we offer insights that will help Valley pinpoint those at highest risk in order to engage and offer support to those individuals."

"As the Affordable Care Act takes shape, more pressure will be applied to deliver results and demonstrate better outcomes," said Larcenaire. "By precisely understanding who is at high risk for significant hospitalization service and prescribing the best course of treatment for each individual, Valley will be able to serve its clients and health plans more effectively and more efficiently than ever before."

Valley and Predilytics expect to see positive results from the program within the first few months of implementation.
