National Spine & Pain Centers opens new pain management center in Cumberland, Maryland

Over 100 million adults suffer from chronic pain and about half of those suffer from this pain daily. Chronic and acute pain dramatically impacts quality of life. The specialty of pain management is born to fulfill the need for non-surgical, interventional solutions and medication management to treat all types of pain.

On October 28th, a new pain management center opened its doors to the Cumberland, Maryland community. This new facility boasts cutting edge technologies and advanced procedures including epidural injections, facet joint injections, discography, kyphoplasty, spinal cord stimulation and other pain relieving treatments. These non-surgical procedures take less than an hour to complete and patients experience significant pain relief within a day or two, but sometimes immediately.

Dr. Ali El-Mohandes, the leading provider at this new location, believes in the honest and straightforward approach to patient care. He has gained the admiration and confidence of his patients because of his concern for their well-being and his refined clinical capabilities. His Anesthesiology residency and Pain Medicine fellowship were concluded in Pittsburgh, PA at the Allegheny General Hospital. Dr. El-Mohandes is very grateful for this expansion saying, "I would like to thank the Cumberland and Western Maryland community of patients and physicians for receiving us in such a gracious manner. I will endeavor to continue providing the best comprehensive pain care available as we have been doing in Hagerstown. I am glad that our new Cumberland office location provides easier access and less commuting time for our Western Maryland, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania patients. It is an honor to be accepted into your community."

This Cumberland location joins the Hagerstown center as the second National Spine and Pain Center serving the Western Maryland community. The office will be accepting new patients on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9 am – 5 pm.
