Wearable Technology Show 2015 opens in London

The Wearable Technology Show – the world’s biggest dedicated wearables event – opens its doors in London next Tuesday. With 110 exhibitors and nearly 200 speakers, the event has more than doubled in size since its launch last March and is already respected globally as the ultimate destination for everyone involved in wearables.

Exhibitors from all over the world will use next week’s event to launch groundbreaking, next gen devices to the European market – everything from the Muse ‘mind-reading’ brain sensing headband, to Martian’s voice command James Bond-style smart watches.

Major players from global giants including Microsoft, Amazon, Samsung, Martian and Mclaren will fly in to London to present keynotes to 3,500 delegates at the conference, which features nine tracks and 100 sessions.

Wearable Technology Show 2015 also features:

  • Augmented Reality 2015 – the UK’s only AR event
  • The Wearable Technology Start-Up Competition – the shortlist will pitch to the show dragons at 4.30pm on Tuesday 10 March in the Start-Up Theatre with the winner announced at the Wearables Awards that evening
  • A dedicated Hackfest sponsored by Intel and open to mobile, AR, VR and app developers
  • The Wearables 2015 awards sponsored by IBM; the winners will be announced at the after show networking party on Tuesday 10 March at the Fox Pub next to ExCeL. Last year Wearables winners included Reebok and Virgin Atlantic

"The Wearable Technology Show opens the morning after the Apple Watch press conference when curiosity and desire for wearables will be at an all-time high and all eyes will be on this industry,” said COO of organiser Evolve John Weir.

“The market is young but it’s already estimated to be worth $14bn and analysts believe this will rise to over $70bn by 2024. This is no flash in the pan fad. Wearables are here to stay and we are about to see them become more intrinsic to our lives – our health, wellbeing and entertainment. We are also about to see them move from mainly consumer applications to having a much bigger impact on industry and. 2015 has already proved to be a fascinating year for wearables and we can’t wait to see how it continues to play out.”
