Replay 4, next-generation backup and recovery platform from AppAssure Software

NewsGuard 100/100 Score

Lincoln County Heathcare (LCH) is a small health system on the rugged coast of Maine with two small hospitals and retirement communities, employing more than 1,200 full and part-time people.

"If you're an IT person and you're not getting successful backup, you're not doing your job," says Brooks Betts, Vice President of Information Services at LCH. As is the case with many hospitals in Maine, budgets are extremely tight for LCH, but Betts knew he needed a backup redesign to protect his mission critical systems. He drew up a plan, went to the CEO of LCH and said, "I realize this might be the worst time to ask for money for IT, but we can't afford NOT to have this solution BEFORE there's any massive problem."

Betts selected AppAssure's Replay 4 to support the backup and recovery needs of 60 servers and 650 workstations. Replay replaces a big traditional backup product that wasn't working the way they needed it to. As he explains, "Restores were a nightmare until AppAssure came along. I cannot believe how easy it was!"

Replay 4 erased LCH's fear of a catastrophic failure of a business critical system.

Replay 4:

  • Eliminates the backup window
  • Creates point-in-time images continuously
  • Reduces server down-time allowing users to access applications (including e-mail) during a live recovery
  • Reduces disk space by 70% with built-in data de-dupe and compression
  • Allows for recovery or messages, files, databases, storage groups or the entire server from bare-metal in just a few clicks
