Ascendant Neuro is pleased to announce the addition of Jack A. Chapman, M.D., a nationally recognized pain management specialist, who will work to further advance the group's minimally invasive pain treatment techniques through the innovative use of neurostimulators and other conservative treatments. Ascendant Neuro's trained physicians, who treat chronic pain of the spine and extremities as well as chronic migraine headaches, are the only doctors performing this unique migraine treatment in Dallas/Fort Worth – and now the Houston area.

After scholastically ranking the highest in history at Houston Baptist University, Chapman was awarded admission to Baylor College of Medicine.  Chapman graduated with honors including Obstetrical Anesthesia Student of the Year and was also involved in research and publications for the Departments of Otolaryngology and Anesthesiology.  After completing a transitional internship in Surgery and Medicine at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston, Texas, he completed a three-year residency in Anesthesiology and Pain Management at University of Texas medical branch in Galveston. After completing residency training and obtaining board certification by the American Board of Anesthesiology, he continued with additional specialty training in pain management and was honored as a Diplomat of The American Board of Pain Management.

Chapman is currently involved in teaching post graduate fellows at Baylor College of Medicine's Interventional Pain Program.  He also continues to serve as a consultant for peer-to-peer training at St. Jude Medical.  Additionally, Chapman facilitates cadaver instruction and is a consultant for Stryker International which teaches other physicians the practice of safe performance of augmentation techniques for fractures of the spine including Vertebroplasty and Kyphoplasty.

"Dr. Chapman's extensive experience in managing pain as well as implementation of both spinal and peripheral nerve stimulators, will no doubt offer invaluable treatment for our patients," said Alex Noffsinger, president of Ascendant Neuro. "We are very pleased to have a doctor of this caliber join the Ascendant Neuro team."

Ascendant Neuro physicians are specially trained in neurostimulation which works by safely and gently stimulating certain nerves, thereby blocking the perception of pain from the brain.

Ascendant Neuro's partner physicians treat all types of chronic pain, including any kind of severe head pain that occurs on a consistent and frequent basis. Even patients with the most severe headaches that have not responded to other treatments commonly respond dramatically to treatment options offered by Ascendant Physicians.

In the greater Houston area, Chapman and Ascendant Neuro currently offer treatment at University General Hospital and Humble Surgical Hospital with satellite offices in The Woodlands.  Ascendant Neuro plans to expand its elite group of hand-selected specialists in key markets, including Southern California and New Jersey, with expansion to select international markets also on the horizon.
