Drug discovery solutions from SPT Labtech to be demonstrated at MipTech

SPT Labtech will be offering delegates at MipTec 2012 (24^th-27^th September, Basel, Switzerland) the opportunity to experience their innovative automated solutions for effortless drug discovery first-hand. The flexible mosquito^® HTS liquid handling system for high-throughput screening capabilities, and acumen ^eX3 laser scanner for rapid whole well high content imaging, will be demonstrated at booth number D29. SPT Labtech will also be supporting researchers with two ‘FREE to register’ User Group Meetings at the event, on High Content Screening and Biobanking, 26^th and 27^th September respectively.

The technical challenges of large-scale biospecimen storage and retrieval will be a key focus of the Biobanking User Group Meeting. Matt Sims, Medical Research Council, Epidemiology Unit, Cambridge, UK, will share his experiences with SPT Labtech’s comPOUND sample storage system and highlight the benefits of the arktic system in -80⁰C biobanking, in his talk entitled From biological sample to laboratory measurement: Automating epidemiological research (9.20am, Thursday, 27^th September, Room SAMARKAND).

Delegates can also learn more about the applications of the systems in a number of poster presentations. The acumen ^eX3’s unrivalled imaging capabilities for faster than ever cell based screening are discussed in the poster ‘Rapid profiling of multiple toxicity indicators using a laser scanning imaging cytometer’. While, the renowned precision and accuracy of the mosquito portfolio for rapid, cost-effective dispensing are highlighted in the posters ‘Robust nanoliter liquid handling for flexible assay miniaturisation’ and ‘Bridging the gap for automated low volume liquid handling’.
