VWR International receives LEED Silver Certification for West Coast Distribution Center

VWR International, LLC, a global solutions provider of laboratory supplies, equipment and services, has received LEED Silver Certification from the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) for its West Coast Distribution Center located in Visalia, California.

VWR focused on sustainability throughout the planning, design, and construction of the new facility.  As a result, our location met the set level of criteria outlined by the USGBC to receive Silver Certification.

"During this process, VWR identified opportunities that support our sustainability efforts.  From recycling 94% of all construction waste to installing energy efficient lights with motion sensors to an eco-friendly landscaping design, we incorporated a number of elements into the building to earn this certification," said Tim Wedemyer, Senior Vice President of North American Operations for VWR. "Now that the location is fully operational, we continue to look at ways to expand our sustainability efforts."
