BeamOne LLC announces that it will locate its newest electron beam medical device sterilization service center in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area. Ground breaking will begin on the new facility in Q4 2009, and it is anticipated to be operational during Q4 2010. Pittsburgh will join the company's successful locations in California, Colorado, Ohio, and Costa Rica.
According to Glenn Thibault, President and CEO of BeamOne, "Our ability to add a fifth facility, following so closely after the January 2009 opening of our Costa Rica service center, emphasizes that electron beam is the sterilization modality choice of the future. The addition of our Pittsburgh center is one more stepping stone on BeamOne's course of controlled expansion and growth."
BeamOne's technological ability to efficiently process virtually any shipment size, as well as accommodate both large and small product configurations, provides medical product manufacturers with processing flexibility and faster time to market. The Pittsburgh build plan includes the opportunity to add a second electron beam system, thus doubling the capacity of the service center to meet customer demand. The new center will provide sterilization services for single-use medical device, pharmaceutical, and labware manufacturers as well as tissue processors.
