Reproductive medicine is one of today's most exciting scientific and clinical areas. Every month brings announcements of research developments, medical 'firsts', new rulings by regulatory bodies, or ethical controversies - often sparking heated debate among practitioners in the field themselves, as well as ethicists, legislators, the media and the public. ESHRE 2010 provides the media with the opportunity to hear the latest research news and interview the experts. All sessions, including Sunday pre-congress discussions, are open to the media.

• Understanding the mechanism behind why some sub-fertile women respond poorly to ovarian stimulating hormones opens the way to designing personalised treatments
• Mothers who drink alcohol while pregnant may be damaging the semen quality of their future sons
• Cheap and simple, non-invasive blood test could replace invasive diagnostic techniques for detecting chromosomal abnormalities in early pregnancy
• The rejuvenating effects of ovarian transplants: not only can they restore fertility, but could they also lengthen life?
• In vitro maturation: do eggs matured in the laboratory result in babies with Large Offspring Syndrome?
• New, non-surgical treatment for uterine fibroids can improve quality of life and maintain fertility
• How do pregnancy rates from vitrified oocytes compare with those obtained from fresh eggs?
