Developed by Prof Conlan in conjunction with Porvair Sciences, the Chromatrap solid state ChIP assay enables more tissue biopsies to be profiled for epigenetic landscape in less time and with greater efficiency than previously possible. Prof Conlan explains the aims of his group’s work towards regenerative and personalised medicine therapies for the treatment of common gynaecological conditions such as ovarian and endometrial cancers and the role that the new Chromatrap ChIP assay tool has played in allowing faster progress in this research area.

A further video interview with Steve Knight of Porvair Sciences demonstrates the utility of the ChromaTrap solid state ChIP assay which enables high quality chromatin to be obtained from as few as 7000 cells in under five hours. Laborious and error-prone liquid handling steps associated with traditional methods are eliminated with this novel filter-based kit.
