Majority of customers are satisfied with MediCare International, shows survey

NewsGuard 100/100 Score

A recent survey of users of international private healthcare insurer MediCare International has reported that 95% of those surveyed were either very satisfied or satisfied with their overall service experience.

MediCare International has provided international health insurance plans to expatriates of all nationalities for 30 years and during that time, has built up a strong reputation for technical support. That reputation is still intact, with 86% finding the specialist support staff's technical knowledge on the detailed operation of their policy to be very satisfactory or higher.

The speed with which a claim is processed and any expenses outstanding are refunded is an important area where many insurers compete. Historically, MediCare International has been able to show the majority of agreed international health insurance claims are settled within 2 working days, one of the quickest turnaround times in the industry. That record still stands, with 93% declaring they were satisfied or very satisfied with the speed with which their claim was handled.

The industry has, however, been criticised in the past for producing overly complex literature and terms and conditions, which may be hard for the average consumer to follow. MediCare International responded to this challenge some time ago with redesigned and rewritten literature on its website. Every year, documentation is checked and improved, where possible, a policy which has paid dividends: 100% of respondents felt current documentation was clear and easy to follow.

Commenting on the findings, managing director Debbie Purser said, "International private health insurance is a fiercely competitive market. All companies compete on price and I am happy to confirm our policies are always attractively priced. However it is often service which makes the difference for a client, whether that is the technical support we are able to give brokers preparing complex group proposals, or the day to day advice a client may ask for. Service also extends to processing and paying claims quickly, something we have always been well known for in the industry. This survey is a credit to the team at MediCare International, showing as it does that we are still leaders in the areas that matter."
