4D-Lipidomics-confident lipid identification based on pos. and neg. ion mode fragment information

Lipid fragmentation is class and ion mode specific. For example fragment spectra of phosphocholines yield mainly the characteristic head group fragment (184.07 m/z). MS/MS data acquired in negative ion mode provides information about the fatty acid side chains. Therefore, confident lipid identification requires positive and negative ion mode fragment information. MetaboScape enables merging of data acquired in positive and negative mode and hence enables to easily and confidently identify lipids.
