Motorcycle Charity Associates announced today that they will welcome a lucky group of wounded veterans to Los Angeles for free vision treatment and a "Hero's Night Out" at the 2nd Annual Stars & Stripes event taking place on the grounds of the Playboy Mansion on Saturday, May 15th.

“The week-long experience should be a great morale booster, which is a big part of what Hero's Night Out provides.”

To commemorate National Armed Forces Day, Motorcycle Charity Associates (MCA) teamed up with Hero's Night Out (HNO), to send war veterans from Texas military bases, Fort Hood and Fort Sam Houston to Los Angeles for free vision treatment. HNO provides wounded heroes and their families a well-deserved break from their routine while recovering from war-related inquiries. These young soldiers who recently returned from active duty, most severely injured, will get complimentary vision correction surgery with LASIK or the Implantable Contact. The veterans and their caregivers will enjoy a few days in L.A. while recovering from surgery before attending the Stars & Stripes event, with performance by Lil Kim. Proceeds from Stars & Stripes will go to benefit wounded warriors and Hero's Night Out, a 501(c)(3) organization.

"It's the least we can do in exchange for the sacrifices our service men and women have made to insure our freedoms in this great country," says Executive Director Billy Gordon of MCA. "The week-long experience should be a great morale booster, which is a big part of what Hero's Night Out provides."

This heartwarming collaborative effort took more than 10 organizations working together to cover the cost of surgery, admission to the Stars & Stripes event, travel, health services, hotel, medical expenses and food. These organizations include:

(MCA) Mission is to produce and promote events for worthwhile 501(c)(3) charities, sharing a common goal in supporting research, education, community programs, health services and advocacy efforts.

(HNO) Mission is to provide our wounded heroes and their families dinners, a day or night at a sporting event, amusement park, or any other venue that gives them a well-deserved break from their everyday routine while recovering from their injuries. Most of these families are staying at a Fisher House.

Dr. Paul Dougherty graciously donated complimentary vision correction surgery with LASIK or the Implantable Contact.

Other contributors include the Hyatt of Century Plaza, ABATE of CA Local 19, Star Surgical, Abbott Medical, Bausch and Lomb and Navy Vet Mason Curl, who's offered food and the use of his Hunter 42' Sailboat and volunteers.
